NuTerra Research & Development Center (NuTerra RDC) is committed to advancing sustainability, resilience, and equitable access to technology, with a focus on empowering BIPOC communities. By utilizing emerging technologies, we address systemic barriers and provide the tools needed for self-sufficiency and sustainable development. Our mission is to bridge the gap between innovation and community empowerment, creating pathways for long-term resilience and growth in underserved areas.
NuTerra RDC was founded by Twyla Jackson, Albert Herron, Kenneth Mitchell, and Michael Torrey, who met while participating in the NASA Technology Transfer Program. This collaboration ignited a shared vision for applying innovative technologies to create lasting impact in underserved communities.
Our facilities are being established on an 18-acre site in Armuchee, Georgia. Despite this physical foundation, our impact extends far beyond through key partnerships with organizations like the Stemtac Foundation and Torrid Labs. These collaborations enable us to continue advancing research and development both together and independently until construction completion.
Since our inception, we’ve focused on integrating innovative solutions with practical applications to ensure communities are equipped for a sustainable future. Through projects like Project BEACON, we are expanding our reach by building Resilience Hubs that serve as centers for education, technology, and community development, making sure the BIPOC community has the tools needed to thrive in a changing world.
As Passionate Catalysts, we are fueled by a deep-seated belief in the power of our work to transform lives and communities. This passion drives everything we do, from our educational programs to our groundbreaking research initiatives. We approach every challenge with a sense of urgency and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.
